1. About this policy

Wayword (the “App”) is an offline travel translator with a community of place check-ins, provided by iknowya (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the App handles, why, and the choices you have.

2. Information we collect

• Account information. If you sign in, we store your email address, nickname and avatar. If you use Sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the identifier and email that Apple or Google share with us (Apple may give us a private relay address). Without signing in, a guest account is created from a random device identifier.
• Content you post. Check-in photos, review text, comments, likes, reports and blocks. Check-ins and comments are visible to other users together with your nickname. We re-encode photos on our servers and remove location and camera metadata (EXIF) from them.
• Location. With your permission, the App uses your device location to show your position on the map and to find nearby places and check-ins. Your coordinates are sent to our servers only to look up nearby content; we do not build a history of your movements.
• Usage counters. Daily and trial usage counts (numbers only), app version, device model and operating system version, used to apply free-tier limits and keep the service working.
• Purchases. Payments are processed by Apple. We receive your subscription status, not your payment details.

3. What stays on your device

Translation, speech recognition and text recognition run on your device. We do not receive the text, audio or camera images that you translate. Your translation history and favorites are stored on your device.

4. How we use information

To provide and secure the App, show community content, moderate content that violates our Terms, apply free-tier and subscription limits, send verification codes, answer support requests, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information and do not use it for third-party advertising.

5. Sharing

We use service providers for hosting, image storage and email delivery, who process data only on our instructions. Apple and Google process your sign-in. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect users and the service.

6. Retention and deletion

You can delete your account in the App (Me → My profile → Delete account). Deleting your account removes your check-ins, comments, likes, blocks and uploaded photos. You can also delete individual check-ins and comments at any time. Backups and legal records may be kept for a limited period.

7. Your choices

You can turn off location access in iOS Settings, sign out, report or block other users, and request access, correction or deletion of your data by contacting us.

8. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes

We may update this policy and will change the effective date above. Continued use means you accept the updated policy.
